Clement Vows To Keep Key Man
Swansea City manager Paul Clement has vowed to do whatever he can to keep hold of striker Fernando Llorente, despite interest from Chelsea.
Clement only took the role as manager at the Liberty Stadium this month, but he has been impressed with what he has seen so far from the 6ft 4in Spaniard, and is determined to hold on to him in order to strengthen Swansea's bid for Premier League survival come May. Llorente's potential to be a key part of the Swansea team was highlighted in Saturday's surprise 3-2 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, where he scored two of his side's three goals. At 31 years of age, the forward has plenty of experience, which his boss will be keen to utilise between now and the end of the season. However, an approach from Chelsea may be too good for him to turn down, as Antonio Conte has clearly also recognised his ability to be a threat.
Swansea City fans will be hoping that there are no further developments with this story, as they look to build on that impressive away win and move away from the relegation zone. Their next EPL fixture is a home tie against Southampton, before travelling to the Etihad to take on Manchester City, both of which they will be able to approach with higher levels of confidence after today's win.
