Chuba Akpom off to Aston Villa?

Championship side Aston Villa are looking to pursue a short-term loan for Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom. The 21-year-old has earned a solitary appearance in the EFL Cup this season.

Akpom was expected to break into the Premier League setup this term before he sustained a back injury in the early stages of the campaign.

According to The Birmingham Mail, Steve Bruce is looking into a reunion with the young striker after he impressed for Hull City during their promotion-winning run last season.

Akpom made 36 appearances in the Championship for Hull, and though he was not a regular in the starting line-up, he did earn the praise from the manager.

The England Under-21 international has appeared in just four league outings for Arsenal since making his debut in the 2013-14 season.
