Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Ashley Young could be allowed to leave the club before Tuesday's transfer deadline.

The England international has been restricted to just five starts through the campaign and was recently left out of the matchday squad for the 4-0 FA Cup win over Wigan Athletic.

In his post-match press conference, Mourinho revealed that he would like to keep hold of the experienced winger but a final decision will be left to the 31-year-old ahead of deadline day.

Young is said to be the subject of interest from several English clubs including former sides Watford and Aston Villa whilst he could also link up with Chinese outfit Shandong Luneng.

The Chinese transfer window is only due to close at the end of February and this will provide Young with additional time to decide on his future, should he fail to seal a move to a fellow Premier League club.

Young has made 150 appearances for the Mancunian giants since arriving from Aston Villa in the summer of 2011.
