Alex Grimaldo wanted by Arsenal?
Benfica left back Alex Grimaldo is a target for Arsenal at the end of the season. According to reports, the Gunners want to make the Spanish defender their new long term left back.
With Nacho Monreal coming into his 30's and Arsene Wenger shopping for a potential replacement, it is understood Arsenal scouts have recommended former Barcelona defender Alex Grimaldo as a perfect signing.
Grimaldo moved to Benfica in 2016 from FC Barcelona and has been in good form since his arrival in Portugal. Grimaldo has 2 and a half years remaining on his contract at his current club.
Benfica snapped up the defender for a bargain price of 1.75 million euros, but Barcelona retain first option to buy the player as part of that transfer deal.
