Arsenal still open to Arsene Wenger extension?

Wenger has a contract offer to consider

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will make a decision on his future at the end of the current campaign. The Gunners' hierarchy have already placed a two-year contract on the table for the Frenchman.

The 67-year-old was the subject of severe criticism from the fans and former players following a 5-1 humiliation at the hands of Bayern Munich in the last 16 first-leg.

With the Gunners surely out of the Europe and an improbable chance of challenging for the Premier League, calls for him to step down have intensified.

According to The Express, the Frenchman will wait until the end of the season before deciding on whether to further his Gunners' contract.

Wenger still sees his side having a realistic opportunity of lifting the FA Cup, and this could be the only thing which could tempt Wenger to prolong his stay.

Meanwhile, there is also a suggestion that Wenger will not be offered a role in the club's administration, should he end his long-term association at Arsenal this term.
