Slaven Bilic dreams of Luka Modric signing

Luka Modric news

Bilic has an ambitious plan of signing Modric

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic admits that he would want to sign Real Madrid's Luka Modric over any other player in the future.

The 48-year-old shared a close relationship with the former Spurs man while managing the Croatian national side between 2006 and 2012.

Modric has evolved into a top performer for the European champions over the years, but Bilic still puts the enforcer at the top of his transfer wishlist.

During a Q&A session, Bilic was asked as to which player he would like to sign, and for this, he initially joked 'Lionel Messi' before expressing his admiration for Modric.

He said: "Lionel Messi", before adding: "But, there's one player that I would maybe get before Messi, and that's Modric. Of course [it's because he's Croatian] but I also get a discount!"

West Ham United are due to sign a marquee midfielder over the summer transfer window after Dimitri Payet pushed through a move to Marseille in a deal worth £25m last month.
