Christensen has Blues future under Conte

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will reportedly keep hold of the services of defender Andreas Christensen once he returns from his lengthy loan spell at German club Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Denmark international is in the second season of his two-year loan stint, and is due to return to west London during the summer transfer window.

Monchengladbach are said to have expressed their intent to complete a club-record £13m move for the centre-back, but according to The Mail, Conte is prepared to offer an opportunity to the 20-year-old.

The youngster has established himself as a regular in the Bundesliga with over 50 appearances to his name while he has also earned his fair share of European games in Monchengladbach.

With skipper John Terry likely to depart at the expiry of his contract, Conte is planning for the future with Christensen likely to be in the mix for the 2017/18 campaign.

Christensen has made just three appearances for the Premier League leaders since graduating from the club's youth system.
