Liverpool to re-open Emre Can talks
Liverpool will reportedly resume contract negotiations with midfielder Emre Can in the summer after having seen the player reject discussions earlier in the year.
The German international, who is on a £35,000-a-week, is said to want at least £100,000-a-week from his extension, and this is something that the Reds aren't willing to come close.
According to The Liverpool Echo, talks are expected to extend until the off-season - at a time when Can will enter into the final year of his contract.
The midfielder has remained a favourite under Jurgen Klopp despite failing to impress earlier in the campaign, and his loss could be a huge blow for the German coach whose hoping to further strengthen his squad this summer.
Can is currently the subject of interest from Italian champions Juventus, and the Reds' reluctance could eventually urge them to offload the player on a £25m deal.
The versatile midfielder has turned out 29 times for Liverpool this season - scoring three times in the process.
