Arsenal lining up £30m swoop for EPL defender
Premier League giants Arsenal are reportedly considered favourites to pursue the services of Ben Gibson during the summer transfer window.
According to The London Evening Standard, the Gunners have tracked the centre-back on several occasions this season, and they are prepared to step up their interest after knowing of his versatility.
The Gunners are understood to be on the search for a potential competitor to left -back Nacho Monreal, and Gibson is being noted as perfect fit for the job.
Gibson has established himself as one of England's brightest talents, and the Gunners are prepared to propel him to the next level by offering him a fresh opportunity at the Emirates.
The 24-year-old, who recently earned his maiden cap with the England national side, is also on the radar of league rivals Everton, Liverpool and West Ham United.
He is currently regarded as indispensable to the Middlesbrough squad, but he could yet to be sold with Boro struggling to preserve their Premier League status.
Middlesbrough are likely to demand fees of around £30m in order to part ways with Gibson in the next transfer window.
