Real will revive De Gea interest this summer

Real Madrid are focused on landing goalkeeper David de Gea from Manchester United when the transfer window reopens in three months' time.

The Spain international came close to joining the European champions in the summer of 2014 in a deal which would have see Keylor Navas move the opposite direction.

However, a delay in fax transmission meant that the paperwork was not delivered before the transfer deadline, and this eventually pulled the plug on the proposed move.

De Gea has since committed his future to the Mancunian giants on a four-year deal with the option of an additional 12 months, should it be required.

United are understood to be mulling over a fresh contract for De Gea over the past month, but according to The Mirror, they may yet have to ward off interest from Los Blancos.

It is added that the La Liga leaders will cough up a sum of around £66m for the Spanish shot-stopper as the player has no escape clause in his existing contract.
