Danny Welbeck heading for Arsenal exit?
Former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck has been linked with a surprise exit from the Emirates with Turkish giants Galatasaray seemingly keen on his signature.
The England international has recently earned a decent run in the starting lineup with manager Arsene Wenger opting to share the duties in the centre forward department.
According to The Mail, the 26-year-old could be the subject of Super Lig interest this summer with Gala keen to add top quality options in their attack front.
The Istanbul-based club had been in and around the top two positions over the past decade, but they now find themselves moving further down the table with Besiktas showing their spending might.
Galatasaray are reportedly willing to pay a £16m fee which is quite similar to what Arsenal negotiated with Manchester United in 2014, but it is highly improbable that the player would agree to a transfer.
The city of Istanbul has been in a political unrest over the past few years, and Welbeck could rather prefer a move elsewhere depending on the future of manager Arsene Wenger.
Wenger has yet to reveal whether he will remain with the Gunners next season, but there is a sense of optimism that the Frenchman will prolong his stay beyond the summer.
