Reports coming out of Italy today are suggesting that Real Madrid's long term defender Pepe has agreed to join Italian giants Inter Milan at the end of the season.

Gazetta dello Sport reports that the Portuguese international will make the move from Spain to Italy when the current season finishes, aslong as he is officially told by Real Madrid that he doesn't have a future there. It is believed that Pepe would like to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu, but after falling down the pecking order in Madrid, may have to leave to find first team football.

The tough central defender, who has had a hugely successful decade in Madrid, was strongly linked with a move to the Chinese Super League, but with ambitions of playing in next year's World Cup, would much prefer to remain in Europe.

Inter Milan have struggled in Serie A this season, and face the possibility of missing out on European competition next time around. With new found funds coming from Chinese investors, it is expected that Pepe would be the first of many new arrivals at the San Siro over the coming months.
