The Chelsea full-back, who had an outstanding season for the Blues, has attracted the interest of Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, according to Spanish paper Don Balon.

Azpilicueta is coming off a tremendous season for Chelsea, starting almost every game under Antonio Conte, scoring 2 goals and assisting 6. His defensive statistics speak for themselves as he has won 66 tackles, made 71 interceptions and had 140 clearances.

The Spanish defender has definitely been one of the key reasons behind Chelsea's Premier League triumph as he became a mainstay in Conte's successful 3-5-2 formation.

The consistency in the Spaniard's performances has now attracted the interest of La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Don Balon reported that both clubs are looking to strengthen their defence and Azpilicueta's versatility and ability to play on both the right and left side of the backline makes him a hot prospect. The report also mentioned that Barcelona needs Azpilicueta more as they have problems in the full-back position.

That might be a reference to Aleix Vidal, who has had an unmemorable and injury-riddled campaign for Barcelona since his move from Sevilla.

However, Azpilicueta has played down the rumors linking him with a move to Barcelona. He was quoted in an interview with Marca as saying, "I am very happy here, I feel very valued by the club and I do not think of anything else."

The full-back is expected to start for Chelsea in the FA Cup final against Arsenal as they look to win the trophy for the first time in five years.
