Liverpool are preparing to up their initial £28m offer for AS Roma's Mohamed Salah as they plan to lure him back to the Premier League.

The Egypt international contributed 15 goals during the recently concluded season as the Giallorossi finished second in the standings to Juventus.

Salah had the chance to join the Anfield giants back in 2013, but he opted to snub their advances for a move to Chelsea on an £11m deal.

The former Basel man therein had a tough 11-month spell with the Blues after which he decided to pursue loan stints at Fiorentina and AS Roma respectively before linking up with the latter on a permanent contract.

Salah has made himself a fan favourite during his short stint with the Giallorossi, but it appears that his stay could be limited to this summer with Roma looking to oblige to the Financial Fair Play regulations.

Roma have already turned down a &pund28m bid from the Reds, but Jurgen Klopp's side are due to lodge a fresh £35m approach in order to convince the Giallorossi into a sale, The Telegraph reports.'

Salah is due to earn a 200 percent increase on his current wages as Klopp looks to assemble a side capable of offering a stiff challenge in both domestic and European competitions next term.
