Turkish giants to hold talks for Arsenal outcast
Turkish champions Besiktas are plotting to seal a cut-price deal for unsettled Arsenal winger Joel Campbell. The Costa Rica international is a likely candidate to leave the Emirates with his deal due to expire in June 2018.
Campbell, 24, has earned just 23 top-flight appearances for the Gunners with most of his playing time coming in loan stints in foreign leagues.
Turkish publication Fotospor suggests that Besiktas president Fikret Orman will hold talks with Gunners officials in London in order to negotiate a transfer sum.
The Black Eagles managed to retain their Super Ligue 1 for the second season running, and they are now hoping to lure some of Premier League's finest talents with the prospect of participating in the Champions League.
Campbell had a bizarre loan spell with Sporting last term as he contributed four goals in his first 10 outings - only to be left on the substitutes' bench for the remainder of the campaign.
The former Saprissa man remains a key figure in the national setup, and he would no doubt want to regain his best form ahead of his nation's World Cup challenge next season.
