Watford boss Marco Silva has set his sights on making a move for Genoa striker Giovanni Simeone, gianlucadimarzio.com suggests.

Giovanni, who is the son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego, made great strides in the Serie A last term as his 13 goals helped Genoa survive top-flight relegation.

As a result, his reputation has built up ahead of the summer with the Hornets the sole Premier League club in line to make an approach.

GianlucadiMarzio.com claims that Silva is keen on working alongside the Argentine, who he sees as a potential option to accompany Troy Deeney in the attack front.

However, the Hornets will face stiff competition from Serie A pair AC Milan and Fiorentina with the former prepared to offer Gianluca Lapadula as part of a player-plus-cash deal.

Giovanni arrived at Genoa from Argentine side River Plate on a £2.5m deal last summer. He has already represented Argentina as the under-20 and under-23 level, and he could follow his father's footsteps into earning a senior call-up in the future.
