Cristiano Ronaldo has told his agent to "do everything possible" to pave the way for a return to former club Manchester United, as he looks set on making a swift exit from Spain. 



After being caught up in what he calls false allegations of tax fraud in Spain, Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo shocked fans by saying that he wants to leave the club and the country as a whole. 

The Sun reports that the Portugal captain has asked his agent, Jorge Mendes, to "do everything possible" to arrange a move back to Old Trafford, where he introduced himself fully to the footballing world. 

The attacker last played for Manchester United in 2009, before he sealed an £80 million move to Real Madrid. Despite the large fee, the performances that Ronaldo has produced for the Spanish giants has meant that he was worth every penny. 

Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Chelsea are all said to be showing serious interest in signing Cristiano Ronaldo, but his heart appears to be set on a return to Manchester. 

The signing of Ronaldo is expected to cost in excess of £120 million and there is also speculation that Jose Mourinho is willing to include long term Real Madrid target, David de Gea, as part of the deal to persuade them to do business.
