Liverpool set to lodge bid for Aubameyang

Liverpool are in for Aubameyang

Liverpool have reportedly been monitoring the situation surrounding Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and are now ready to take advantage of PSG's lack of decisiveness to sign the Gabonese.

Aubameyang had yet another terrific season for Borussia Dortmund, scoring 40 goals in just 46 games in all competitions. His 31 goals in 32 appearances also won him the Bundesliga golden boot. In total, Aubameyang has scored an incredible 120 goals in 189 games for Dortmund.

Following the sacking of manager Thomas Tuchel, Aubameyang was also poised to leave the club with PSG emerging as a strong favourite, with reports confirming a bid of £55 million for the forward.

However, PSG have not been able to tie up a deal and might now drop their interest in Aubameyang altogether in favour of Monaco's Kylian Mbappe.

According to Turkish news outlet Fanatik, Liverpool are ready to take advantage of this delay and reluctance on PSG's part to sneak in a move for the Gabonese international. Manager Jurgen Klopp is thought to be very close to Aubameyang and will hope that his relationship will be strong enough to convince him to move to Anfield.

Fanatik also stated that Liverpool will pay the £61 million that Dortmund want for the 28-year-old. The Reds will face stiff competition from Manchester United and Arsenal, whose pursuits of Alvaro Morata and Alexandre Lacazette respectively are also hitting stumbling blocks.
