Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua have expressed an interesting Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri in the summer.

The former France international is weighing up a fresh challenge elsewhere as he is not in the plans of manager Pep Guardiola.

Nasri spent the entirety of last season on loan with Sevilla, but the La Liga club turned down the opportunity to make the deal permanent.

The ex-Arsenal has found few suitors from across Europe this summer with big spending AC Milan offering him an escape route to the Serie A.

According to The Sun, Shanghai Shenhua are hoping to lure the playmaker to the Far East after having placed a whopping £275,000 weekly wage offer on the table.

Manchester City are currently holding out on a £12m sum for the Frenchman, who is reluctant to lower his wage demands to join his admirers from Turkey.

Nasri bagged three goals and as many assists in 31 outings for Sevilla, who finished fourth in their league standings.
