Mario Balotelli open to Nice stay
Mario Balotelli open to Nice stay
Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere has indicated that Mario Balotelli could sign a new contract with the Ligue 1 club.
The Italy international joined the French outfit on a one-year contract last summer and helped them to achieve a third-place finish, which guarantees them Champions League qualification.
Balotelli has been mum over his transfer situation in recent weeks with Borussia Dortmund identified as a potential Bosman destination.
However, Rivere feels that Balotelli will prolong his stay in the south of France as he is prepared to discuss a probable extension with the club.
"I will only say two or three things on Mario. The first is that the player wants to stay in Nice. Afterwards, he's ready to make financial efforts to continue to work with us." he is quoted on Goal.com.
Balotelli bagged 17 goals in 28 outings for Nice during the previous season, a tally which eclipsed his efforts with AC Milan and Liverpool between 2014 and 2016, where he netted seven times in 51 outings.
