Manchester United midfielder in line for new contract
Belgium international Marouane Fellaini is reportedly in talks over a fresh contract with Manchester United. The midfielder had his deal extended by a further year earlier in January.
The 29-year-old has been hugely impressive from the substitutes' bench this season, scoring goals in the victories over Leicester City and Basel.
Turkish giants Galatasaray had lodged an approach to sign Fellaini during the summer but Mourinho rebuffed the interest citing that the Belgian is 'too important' to his first-team plans.
According to The Mirror, United have tabled an initial offer to Fellaini, whose current deal is due to expire at the end of the campaign. The Belgian has received a mixed reception from the fans in recent years, and he appears to have finally won over them with his performances this term.
With Paul Pogba injured, Fellaini made his first start of the season against ex-club Everton on Sunday afternoon where he put in a solid performance in a 4-0 win.
