Serie A president reveals interest in Arsenal attacker
Inter Milan president Erick Thohir has admitted that his side are interested in a future deal for Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil.
The Germany international has less than a year left on his existing deal, and as things stand, he will be free to speak to foreign clubs in January.
Speaking to Metronews.tv, the Nerazzurri bigwig admitted that Ozil is one of their prime targets as they seek to bolster their ranks further in the New Year.
Thohir said: "He [Ozil] is definitely one of those players we are looking at but the last January signings of [Lukas] Podolski and [Xherdan] Shaqiri proves winter signings can fail to live up to expectations."
Inter are apparently not the sole club interested in Ozil with the German's representative, having also made contact with Manchester United and Fenerbahce.
Ozil has struggled with minor injuries since the start of the campaign, and he has yet to contribute a goal or assist in the five games played.
He is likely to make the starting lineup when Arsenal host Brighton & Hove Albion in Sunday's early Premier League kickoff from the Emirates.
