Claude Makelele: 'This Chelsea star is the complete midfielder'

Former Chelsea star Claude Makelele has heaped praise on N'Golo Kante by claiming that every manager in world football would prefer him in the squad.

The 26-year-old made a Premier League move from Caen in the summer of 2015 and he has since won back-to-back titles with Leicester City and Chelsea respectively.

Kante's style of play has often been likened to Makelele, and the Blues favourite believes the Mali-born star is now the 'complete midfielder'.

"He enjoys the job. He plays for his teammates. He's not selfish. Every manager in the world wants a player like that in his team," he is quoted as saying by Evening Standard.

"He produces the quality with his plays and his runs but that's not all, he does the defensive work too. He has got everything a complete midfielder has. He is the perfect fit for the system Conte has put on the pitch." 

The Blues will return to Premier League action this weekend with a game at bottom side Crystal Palace, who are still looking for their first goal and point of the season.

Kante looked to have sustained a hamstring injury with France last night, and this could potentially see him on the sidelines for an extended period.

Chelsea are also without leading striker Alvaro Morata, who sustained a similar problem during the Blues' 1-0 defeat to Manchester City prior to the international break.
