Chelsea star NGolo Kante suffers hamstring injury on international duty

Kante an injury doubt for Palace clash

France international N'Golo Kante is a potential injury doubt for Chelsea after Didier Deschamps ruled him out of Les Bleus' final World Cup qualifier game against Belarus on Tuesday.

The Blues midfielder was substituted in the 34th minute after he appeared to pull his left hamstring. In his place, Adrien Rabiot came onto the field, and the Paris Saint-Germain ace produced a good performance as Les Bleus secured a hard-fought 1-0 win.

The result sees France at the top of their qualifier group, and a victory over Belarus on Tuesday assures them of a World Cup berth in Russia next summer.

Following the game, Deschamps confirmed that the 26-year-old is definitely out for the Belarus clash, and this could potentially hamper his playing time at club level.

"It’s a muscular problem behind the thigh," Deschamps told reporters, as per Metro. "It is fixed for Tuesday."

Antonio Conte is already without Morata with a similar kind of injury, and it appears that the Italian may have to cope without Kante as well this weekend.

Should this be the case, Cesc Fabregas is likely to play in a deeper midfield role alongside Tiemoue Bakayoko when Chelsea visit Crystal Palace on Saturday.
