Arsenal could pursue Napoli midfielder next year
Arsenal could reportedly turn their attention to Napoli's Jorginho amid the inconsistent performances of Granit Xhaka at the heart of the midfield.
Jorginho, 25, has been on the Gunners' radar since his time with Hellas Verona, and he appears to have been earmarked as a player, who could provide competition in the holding midfield position.
According to Tuttomercato, the north London club could make a move for the Italy international next year owing to Xhaka's form and the persistent injury concerns of Santi Cazorla.
Jorginho is presently contracted to Napoli until the summer of 2020, and it is suggested that club are unlikely to entertain his sale earlier than next summer.
The midfielder has managed over 100 appearances for the Serie A leaders since making the switch from Verona back in the summer of 2014.
Premier League rivals Liverpool were also strongly linked with a move for Jorginho during his Verona days, but he ultimately decided to stay put in the Serie A with Napoli.
