Manchester United receive injury boost as midfielder participates in training with development squad
Manchester United have received a huge boost prior to the festive schedule with Paul Pogba having joined training with the reserve squad on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old suffered a hamstring injury during the Champions League opener versus FC Basel in mid-September, and he has since missed 12 games across all competitions.
According to ESPN, the Frenchman trained alongside the club's reserve players on Wednesday, and he was joined by the likes of Michael Carrick and Marcos Rojo, who have also been on the sidelines.
Pogba was initially predicted to make a cameo appearance in the 1-0 league defeat to Chelsea last weekend, but according to The Sun, he stands a good chance of making the matchday squad when United host Newcastle United, a week on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has yet to join a full training regime but Mourinho hinted in a recent MUTV interview that the Swede could make his comeback before the turn of the year.
Manchester United are currently eight points behind table-toppers Manchester City, who are the only unbeaten side in this season's Premier League.
