Alvaro Morata talks up possible return to Real Madrid

Morata refuses to rule out Real Madrid return

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has refused to rule out a return to Real Madrid in the latter stages of his professional career.

The 23-year-old is currently on international duty with Spain, who host Costa Rica in a friendly on Saturday night.

Morata has made a fine start to his Blues career with eight goals in just 14 appearances, but he has previously admitted that he would never have left Juventus in the first place.

In an interview with Cadena Ser, Morata revealed that he pursued a move to Stamford Bridge to secure regular gametime, but would consider the prospect of a Los Blancos comeback.

"Of course I would return to Real Madrid, but it's complicated," he told Cadena Ser. "I told the coach I wanted to play more. That I wanted to go is foolishness. I felt important for Madrid, but I wanted to play in the Champions League knockout stages."

Despite being a regular substitute last term, Morata was impressive for Real Madrid, contributing 20 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions. The 25-year-old is nevertheless relishing the prospect of being a Chelsea player, and he is looking forward to attaining some silverware with the west London giants.
