Samuel Umtiti open to Manchester United move?

Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti could reportedly consider a fresh challenge with Manchester United when the transfer window reopens during the summer.

The France international has been a key contributor for the Catalan giants since his arrival in 2016, but the club are yet to kickstart talks over a possible extension.

As a result, Umtiti's position has come under question in recent weeks with United apparently keen on his signature owing to the £52m release clause in his contract.

According to Sport, the Red Devils are prepared to offer Umtiti with a tempting £7.8m annual package in order to lure him from the Camp Nou in the next transfer window.

Umtiti is presently earning just half of that salary in Catalonia, and the Spanish outfit are, for now, reluctant to commit to a new deal owing to the Financial Fair Play requirements.

United boss Jose Mourinho is said to be planning a reshuffle of his backline during the summer, and the likes of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling could be cashed in to enhance the arrival of a new centre-back.
