Gareth Bale's agent responds to transfer speculation

The representative of Gareth Bale has dismissed the ongoing rumours linking the Welshman with a summer exit from Real Madrid.

The Wales international's future has been brought into question in recent weeks with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur among those interested in luring him back to England.

In an interview with ESPN, agent Jonathan Barnett reiterated that his client is content at the European champions whilst criticising the media for presenting false stories.

He said: "Gareth is a Real Madrid player and loves Real Madrid, and Real Madrid love Gareth. All this talk about leaving is written by reporters who have no idea what's going on and who need to write something and don't care if it's true or not."

Bale has had another injury plagued campaign with the Spanish heavyweights, but he has managed to go unscathed during the second half of the season. The ex-Southampton graduate has notched 11 goals in La Liga this term despite being restricted to just 16 starts.
