Barcelona midfielder pondering Manchester United move

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic is reportedly considering the option of joining Manchester United at the end of the current campaign.

The Croatia international has been earmarked as one of United's top transfer targets as they seek to bolster central midfield ranks during the summer.

According to Diario Gol, the 30-year-old is said to be tempted by the move, but he will first want to assess whether he can acquire a regular role at the Camp Nou next term.

The Catalan giants are said to be looking at the prospect of playing Philippe Coutinho in a deeper position next season, and this may hamper the gametime of the Croatian.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Rakitic played through a pain barrier after fracturing his finger during the shock 3-0 defeat to AS Roma, which ousted his side out of the Champions League.

Rakitic has made over 200 appearances for the Blaugrana since arriving from Sevilla during the summer of 2014. He is presently contracted to the club until June 2021.
