Ferdinand approves of Robertson progress

Pundit Rio Ferdinand has praised Virgil van Dijk for bringing out the best in Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson. The Anfield club signed Robertson in a £8 million deal last summer and has since impressed since playing at the left-back position for the Reds.
Having ousted Alberto Moreno from the first-team, Robertson has impressed significantly and has helped Liverpool to another Champions League semi-final.
Credit from Man Utd legend Rio Ferdinand has been passed on to Virgil van Dijk, who joined Liverpool from Southampton in January.
“How does he affect the others around him? He makes other players look better,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
“Robertson, who is very inexperienced at this level, has looked fantastic in recent weeks. And I think a lot of that comes from the confidence that he [Van Dijk] has given others.
“I think others are improving around him based on what he’s giving.”
Liverpool are battling for Champions League success and are playing Roma in the semi-final.
