Ruben Loftus-Cheek responds to future talk
Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has refused to discuss his future until the end of the current campaign. The England international is currently approaching the conclusion of his season-long loan with Crystal Palace, and he is focused on helping them avoid top-flight relegation.
Loftus-Cheek struggled to lay a claim for a regular role at Stamford Bridge, and this urged him to join the Eagles on a temporary basis for the 2017/18 season.
He has since managed to make 21 appearances in an injury-hit campaign, and he is now focused on completing his job with the Eagles rather than pondering over his Chelsea future.
Speaking to reporters, he said: "I really haven't thought about what's going to happen next season. I've still got a few games now. Big games coming up, so I'm focused with Palace.Whatever happens next season, I'm not really looking at that right now. I'll deal with that when it comes."
Loftus-Cheek impressed during his maiden call-up to the England national side back in November, but injuries have meant that he was excluded from the next set of international friendlies.
Gareth Southgate has also spoken fondly about the midfielder on a number of occasions, but his involvement at the World Cup may depend on his performances from now and end of the season.
