Manchester City, Arsenal join pursuit of Championship starlet
Manchester City and Arsenal have reportedly joined a long list of clubs interested in pursuing the signature of Norwich City midfielder James Maddison.
The England Under-21 international has been one of the Championship's most promising players this term, and he has contributed 14 goals and a further eight assists for the Canaries this campaign.
According to The Mirror, City and Arsenal are prepared to compete with the likes of Liverpool for the 21-year-old, who was previously on the books of Coventry City.
Maddison, who is currently valued at around £30m, has mostly plyed his trade in an attacking midfield position from where he has contributed to nearly half of Norwich's league goals.
His main strengths lie on taking long shots as well as direct free-kicks, and it will be interesting to see whether he can impress with a Premier League outfit next term.
Maddison signed a fresh contract with Norwich City last summer, and this sees them contracted to the club until June 2021. He was previously recruited from Coventry for just £2m in 2016.
