Tottenham consider Riera

Carling Cup winners Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Espanyol winger Albert Riera. The player has already enjoyed a spell in the Premiership with Man City, but an outstanding season in La Liga has seen several admiring glances.

Juande Ramos has admitted that he may look in the Spanish market for new talent, and already came close to signing Dani Jarque in the January transfer window.

It now seems Ramos has turned his attentions to Spanish international Riera and is willing to pay around £6.5 million for the privilege.

The 25 year old has enjoyed a couple of seasons in Ligue 1 with Bordeaux, and Real Madrid are also interested in acquiring the talented winger.

Ramos hopes to seal the swoop when the transfer window reopens.
