Santi Cazorla returns to first-team training at Arsenal
Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has returned to first-team training ahead of the Gunners Premier League meeting against Burnley at the Emirates Stadium.
The 33-year-old has not featured for the Gunners since October 2016 with a severe Achilles injury and over this period, he has undergone as many as 10 operations to rectify the issue.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has previously revealed that Cazorla may only return to training during pre-season but the veteran has managed to make somewhat of a quick recovery.
Cazorla returned to training with his teammates on Saturday and in a recent interview with AS, he has revealed his intention to make an appearance before the close of the campaign.
The former Malaga man sees his current contract expiring at the end of the season and it will be interesting to see whether the new head coach will reward him with a possible extension.
Arsenal are currently sixth in the Premier League standings with 57 points and a victory over Burnley on Sunday would assure them of sixth spot for the season.
