Manchester United agree fee for Serie A midfielder?

Manchester United are reported to have reached an agreement with Lazio to pursue the signature of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic during the summer.

The Serbia international has had an impressive season with the Rome outfit and he has managed 13 goals and nine assists across all competitions.

As a result, he has attracted interest from a number of Europe's elite but United now appear to be leading the race for the highly-rated midfielder, The Sun reports.

Jose Mourinho's side were initially reluctant to come close to Lazio's asking price but considering the widespread interest, they are prepared to match the player's £80m valuation.

Manchester United are expected to lose Michael Carrick following his retirement at the end of the season and Marouane Fellaini could join him through the exit door.

The Belgian has been a huge favourite under manager Jose Mourinho but the club have yet to bow to his demands of a two-year contract beyond the summer.
