Arsenal open talks with Bundesliga goalkeeper
Arsenal have reportedly kickstarted negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen to secure the signature of German goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
The Gunners are said to be in the market for a new shot-stopper after a number of error-prone performances from Petr Cech and lingering doubts over David Ospina to succeed him as the number one.
According to Bild, the Gunners have already made contact with Leno, who has previously turned down an approach from Napoli. It is added that the German could be available for just £22m in the summer owing to a release clause attached to his contract.
Leno has been with Leverkusen since the summer of 2011 and during this period, he has made over 300 appearances for the club across all competitions.
His current deal with the Bundesliga outfit only expires in the summer of 2020 but he has previously hinted that he could be tempted by a big-club move at the end of the season.
