Nemanja Matic urges Manchester United to bring more experience within the ranks

Matic wants more experienced players at Old Trafford

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic believes the club should bring more experienced players into the squad during this summer's transfer window.

The Red Devils finished with their best-ever points tally since 2013 but they were still condemned to the runner-up spot with Manchester City winning with a comfortable 19-point margin.

Jose Mourinho's side were thereafter in the running for the FA Cup title but unfortunately, their season ended trophyless following a 1-0 final defeat at the hands of Chelsea.

Shortly after the loss, Matic has admitted that the current team is lacking the needed experience to challenge for trophies and this is something which should be sorted out during the summer.

"We need some players with experience to bring more qualities to our team. After that, we can fight for the title and the Champions League also," Matic is quoted as saying by The Guardian.

Manchester United have lost an experienced head in the form of Michael Carrick following his retirement and he could soon be followed by Marouane Fellaini whose contract expires next month.

As such, the club will be desperate to bolster their midfield options during the summer and Napoli's Jorginho and Shakhtar Donetsk's Fred have been touted as possible options to reinforce the department.
