Paul Scholes slams Alexis Sanchez's performance vs Chelsea
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has slammed the showing of Alexis Sanchez following the Red Devils' 1-0 defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
The Chile international has struggled to put in consistent performances since his switch from Arsenal in January and he was once again the subject of criticism after failing to show up at the Wembley Stadium.
Following the game, Scholes was critical about Sanchez's ineffectiveness against the Blues and believes the Chilean must make an improvement for United to close the gap on Premier League champions Manchester City.
He told BT Sport: "[Sanchez's] performances, well they have to improve. They can't get any worse to be honest with you. I think the next few games of next season are vital to him, he needs to get fans believing again and believing they are going to get close to City. They need a big player."
Manchester United had nearly two-thirds of the possession during the FA Cup final but it was Chelsea who came up triumphs after Eden Hazard scored the only goal of the game via the penalty spot in the 22nd minute.
