Freiburg defender confirms Arsenal transfer interest
Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu has confirmed that Arsenal have expressed an interest in securing his signature this summer.
The 22-year-old, who is currently on international duty with Turkey, has been monitored by Gunners scouts over the course of the 2017/18 season.
In a report covered by Onefootball, Soyuncu regarded Arsenal as 'one of the most important clubs in England' and admitted that the Gunners are indeed interested in his signature.
Nonetheless, Soyuncu stressed that no deal has been sorted out with the north London club and further talks are likely to be held after June 5 when his season break begins.
"Arsenal are one of the most important clubs in England. I know they're interested in me, but there's nothing finalised yet about my transfer. After the national team camp we'll have talks," he said.
Soyuncu, who has been likened to Bayern Munich's Mats Hummels on multiple occasions, appeared in 25 league matches for Freiburg during the previous campaign.
