Maurizio Sarri finalises backroom staff ahead of Chelsea switch
Maurizio Sarri has reportedly added the likes of Giovanni Martusciello and Gianfranco Zola to his backroom staff ahead of his proposed appointment at Chelsea.
The 59-year-old has already agreed upon a deal to join the west London giants but the move is being held up with a compensation package yet to be settled with Napoli.
Despite this, Sarri is making strides towards succeeding Antonio Conte and according to The Sun, former Empoli midfielder Martusciello has been added to a new-look backroom staff alongside Gianfranco Zola.
Martusciello is presently employed with Inter Milan as the technical director but he is expected to fill the void left by Michael Emenalo on his switch to west London.
Chelsea are due to part with a severance fee of around £9m to release Conte from the final year of his contract. An announcement regarding the Italian's departure may be made once they are on the cusp of signing Sarri.
