Manchester United defender unlikely to make Serie A move

Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian is unlikely to make a move back to Italy, Mirror Football reports.

It has been reported in Italy that Juventus who wanted to sign the Italian International have turned their attention to Bayern Munich defender Juan Bernat.

The defender who signed for United from Torino under former boss Louis van Gaal reportedly wants a move from Old Trafford after failing to nail a place in the starting line-up.

Darmian's early days at United showed a lot of promise for the 27-year-old Italian who was able to bring the rugged Italian style of defending to United.

The emergence of Jose Mourinho saw a decline in the defender's playing time with the Portuguese opting to go for Valencia and Ashley Young as his preferred full-backs.

With the transfer window still open, and no assurance from Jose Mourinho that Darmian will be a regular part of his team, it is only a matter of time before he moves to a different club.
