Real Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo is 'determined to leave' Real Madrid, Manchester Evening News reports.

Sources in Spain have revealed that Real have accepted that the Portuguese attacker will leave before the season starts.

Manchester United have been linked with the attacker who became a football star when he was at Old Trafford between 2003 and 2009, winning the World Footballer of the Year Award in 2008.

It has been revealed that the 33-year-old will not be going for the riches in China or America, but is looking to play in England, France or Italy.

If Ronaldo is to choose England as his destination, it is highly unlikely that he will play for any other club apart from Jose Mourinho's Manchester United.

United can match his financial demands, and going back to Old Trafford will be like going back home as he is loved by Manchester United fans.

Ronaldo scored a total of 118 goals during his United days, winning the three Premier League titles, the F.A. Cup, and the UEFA Champions League.
