Osman: Morocco have shown Spains weakness

Former Everton player, Leon Osman has hailed Morocco, describing them as 'excellent' after they played a 2-2 draw with Spain in their final group game of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Spain went behind twice in the game with goals from Khalid Boutaib and Youssef En-Nesyri, while Isco and Iago Aspas leveled the scores twice for Spain.

"Morocco were excellent, great performance from them. To show the weaknesses in Spain's team and really go at it, they could have won the game, they are unlucky not to," he said on BBC Four.

The draw meant that Spain finished top of group B while Portugal came second after their 1-1 draw with the very impressive and hard fighting Iran.

Despite having no chance of qualifying, Morocco were ready to make sure Spain did not have an easy ride - that they did superbly.

They showed that the Spanish national team is not that superior to the North African side, and Spain's next opponent in the round of 16, Russia, will definitely have a look at this game for tips on how to stop 2010 World champions.

Portugal will face Uruguay in the round of 16 after the South Americans destroyed hosts Russia by three goals to nothing to win group A.
