Arsenal to confirm Lucas Torreira deal next week

Arsenal are reportedly on the verge of announcing a deal to sign Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria.

The Uruguay international is presently with his national side at the World Cup but the Gunners are still seeking to push the deal amid interest from elsewhere.

According to The Mail, the north London club have been in talks with his employers over the past few weeks and a deal worth £25m is expected to be finalised in the next few days.

Torreira started the World Cup as a regular from the bench for Uruguay but he has managed to command a starting role in the last two games versus Russia and Portugal.

During this period, there has been plenty of praise from fans and pundits alike over his showing and the Gunners are keen to avoid any competition by securing a move at the earliest possibility.

Arsenal are also expected to announce the arrival of Sokratis from Borussia Dortmund in the coming ways with a deal of around £17.7m finalised with the Bundesliga outfit.
