Martinez reacts to World Cup semi-final defeat

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez has hailed the attitude of his players after their one nil defeat to France in the semi-final of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Samuel Umtiti's header in the 51st minute ensured Les Blues a place in the final in Moscow - the third in their history.

Martinez accepted the loss to the former world champions, saying that 'one team wins and the other loses', and he went further to add that his side did their best.

"The attitude of the players was brilliant and we couldn't ask for anymore," he told BBC One.

The first half was the best half for the Belgians. They dominated the half, were close to scoring, but failed to get the final ball to Lukaku.

France came on strong in the second half, got the goal, held on, and were dangerous on the break.

Belgium will face the loser of the other semi-final between Croatia and England in the third place game, while France will face the winner in the final on Sunday.
