Asensio’s agent provides transfer update on Madrid star

Liverpool target Marco Asensio will not be leaving European champions Real Madrid this summer, his representative has said.

Speaking to Calciomercato, the player's agent has said that there is 'no doubt' about his client's future.

“He will not leave the club. He’s improving a lot and I believe that the next season will be very important for him. He will stay in Madrid,” his agent said.

The Sun had reported in June that Liverpool had made a £150m bid for the midfielder.

It is claimed that the player wants a move out of Real Madrid in order to get more game time.

Under former boss Zinedine Zidane, the Spain international's game time were limited but with new coach Julen Lopetegui, all that could change.

According to Mirror football, the player has been placed with a £158m price tag and has a release clause of £616m.

With his agent's comments and the arrival of Lopetegui, it looks like Jurgen Klopp will not get his man. But if they are to get him eventually, it will come at a very high price.
