Liverpool face Lazio competition for Swiss attacker
Lazio are reportedly set to offer strong competition to Liverpool in the race to sign Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City this summer.
The Switzerland international was the Potters standout performer last term with eight goals and seven assists in the Premier League but his efforts were not sufficient to keep them in the top-flight.
As such, Shaqiri has made his mind up to leave the club after another impressive World Cup performance and it appears that there could be multiple clubs tussling for his signature.
According to Football Italia, the Reds may not have a clear route to sign Shaqiri this summer with Lazio prepared to lodge an offer of their own for the Swiss attacker.
Unlike Liverpool, Lazio won't be able to offer Champions League football for next season but the Serie A side are still in a position to assure him of regular gametime which he may struggle for at Anfield.
