Harry Kane reacts to England loss to Croatia

Mario Mandzukic news

England captain Harry Kane has said that the Three Lions are gutted to lose to Croatia in the semi-final of the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

England lost 2-1 courtesy of a Mario Mandzukic goal in the second half of extra-time. The game had been 1-1 heading into extra-time courtesy of goals from Kieran Trippier and Ivan Perisic.

Speaking to ITV, the Tottenham Hotspur attacker said: "It is tough, we are gutted, we worked so hard and the fans were amazing. It was a tough game, a 50-50 game, I'm sure we will look back and there is stuff we could've done better."

Kane went ahead to say that the England team players are proud of getting to the semis.

England will face Belgium on Saturday to decide who takes the third and fourth place.

Croatia head into the final on Sunday, the first in their history, with the opportunity to make more history.

The French team may have improved more than the Croatians as the tournament has progressed, but that will not make the game an easy one for Les Blues.

It will be a battle that involves a lot. It will involve enormous strength, skill, and pace. It is going to be a fight to the finish.
