Mourinho hints at Anthony Martial stay

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has given a hint that French forward Anthony Martial could stay at Old Trafford next season.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of United's first pre-season game against Club America, the Portuguese named Martial as one of the players he thinks will start the season in attack for the Manchester club.

He said, MEN reports: “It’s important to work with Mata, Martial and Alexis as they will be the players we think that will start our season in attack.”

After failing to make the French World Cup winning squad, the former Monaco man has been linked with a move away from the Theatre of Dreams.

His Old Trafford future looked more in doubt when his agent revealed some weeks ago that United are unwilling to make the winger an important player.

Martial is currently on United's tour of the US, and is expected to feature in the International Champions Cup where the Old Trafford side will face the likes of AC Milan, Liverpool, and Real Madrid.
